Six Rivers National Forest The complex consists of 19 fires.

The Mad River Complex is a series of five lightning fires that started on July 30th, 2015. Crews have initiated structure defense and attacking the edge of the Gobbler and Pickett Fire around the Ruth Lake communities south of Highway 36. There are five fires that have been detected on the Mad River Ranger District and they include the Blake Mountain Fire, the Buck Mountain Fire, Lassic Fire, the Gobbler Fire and the Pickett Fire. Some of the fires are in remote areas with limited accessibility and will require days to access. Additionally, firefighters will be arriving throughout the next few days and begin to attack the other fires.

08/08/2015 0830: 17,852 acres, 30%  Containment. 
 Yesterday, firefighters made good progress in containment efforts on the fires in the Mad River Complex.

Lassic Fire: The Lassic and Swayback Fires burning in the Mt. Lassic Wilderness cover an area of 1,771 acres. Crews were successful in establishing containment line on the southeast corner of the fire. The Lassic fires are located 5 miles south of the Rock Fire (Route Complex) and 3 miles north of the HUU fires (Cal Fire). Fire activity on any of these fires may affect the Lassic Fires, so fire managers are coordinating suppression efforts and sharing fire suppression resources. A spike camp is established at Scotts Glade to stage fire crews overnight closer to fire lines where they are working during the day.

Gobbler Fire: Current size is 7,721 acres. Containment lines from a previous burnout on the northern portion the fire are holding well and crews are monitoring for any spot fires. The fire is backing down towards the Lower West Side Road (Road 1S06). Crews fired out the southeast corner of the fire last night and will reinforce fire line today.

Pickett Fire: This fire is now 8,360 acres. Structure protection continues in the Forest Glen area and a voluntary evacuation advisory is in place. Fire managers are looking at options to construct line where needed and tie in to existing roads. Containment lines on the west side of the fire are holding.

08/05/2015 0830: 14028 Acres 8 %, Road closures are in effect for Highway 36 from Lower Mad River Road (County Road 501) east to Wildwood Road; Lower Mad River Road from State Highway 36 south to Three Forks; and Van Duzen Road (County Road 511) from Brown's Canyon Road south to Ruth/Zenia Road (County Road 502). State Highway 36 from Van Duzen Road to Lower Mad River Road is open to residents only. Voluntary Evacuations - for the communities around Ruth Lake, Mad River, and the Lassic area.
The following are the primary values at risk: Structures - Communities of Ruth Lake, Mad River, and structures in the Van Duzen and Lassic areas' 
Infrastructure - The Watershed, Ruth Lake reservoir, Meadow Dam, the power generating facility, transmission lines, Gas lines, cell towers, microwave towers, repeaters, and the road systems. Numerous lighting starts Humboldt County, Complex consists of 70 fires, with 18 fires uncontrolled. Fire presents Immediate threat to the community of Blocksburg.

08/10/2015 0830: 4,665 acres - 50% contained (over 70 fires) There are 7 active fires ranging in size from 147 to 1,560 acres, for a total of 4,665 acres burned. Fire growth is not anticipated on the Blocksburg , Bluford, Dobbyn, Steelhead, Wildcat or Winchester Fires.
 Fires are burning in steep, rugged terrain with poor access and heavy timber fuels. Fires threaten Mount Lassic Wilderness, as well as commercial timberland. Much of the timberland is owned by small timberland and rangeland owners, who rely on timber and range revenue for a steady source of income. Fires threaten habitat for threatened and endangered species.
 There are several additional fires burning near the Humbodlt Complex in United States Forest Service jurisdiction.

Complex consists of numerous fires near Hayfork, Hyampom and Harrison Gulch areas.

The Fork Complex consists of over 40 fires, all of which were ignited by lightning between July 29 and 31, 2015. All fires being managed by California Interagency Incident Management Team 4 (CIIMT 4) are still being identified, assessed, and prioritized. Updated acreage and information about specific fires will be published as it is known.

These updates is for fires burning on the Hayfork Ranger District, and includes the communities of Hayfork, Harrison Gulch and Trinity Pines along with the surrounding areas.

EVACUATION CENTER: Red Cross has established an evacuation center at the Solid Rock Christian Church at the intersection of State Route 3 and Tule Creek Road in Hayfork. The Salvation Army is also offering water and meals at the evacuation center. ROAD CLOSURES: -13 Dips Rd -State Route 36 from Forest Glen to Mad River -Wildwood Rd; Gemmill Gulch picnic to E Fork Rd -Rattlesnake Rd from Post Mountain Road to HWY 3 - State Route 3 south of the Hayfork Fairgrounds to HWY 36 - All roads associated with the residences listed above INFRASTRUCTURE THREATENED: Public Safety Communication/Repeater Infrastructure, Verizon Communication Infrastructure, PG&E/Trinity Co.  Fire activity moderated throughout last night with the smoke inversion layer remaining in place today. It is hoped this will create favorable conditions for fire crews to take direct fire attack on the fires edge, construct dozer line and scout for possible future handline locations on all fires in the complex.
 Additional overhead has been ordered to more effectively manage the large number of fires in the area. The Type I Incident Management Team (Opliger) in Unified Command with CALFIRE has assumed command of the Fork Complex this morning. The Fork Complex now includes the fires around Hayfork, including the Blue, Deer, Farmer, Shiell, Cold, Rail, and Barker Fires.

08/03/2015 0815: 25,313 acres, 5% contained. CA IMT1 Team 4 (Opliger) assumed command at 0600 today. Fire is in Unified Command with CAL FIRE (McCain). Fires remained active well into last night's operational shift. Mandatory evacuations remain in place. NorCal IMT2 (Young) assumed command of the South Complex at 0600 today. The South Complex will include fires previously in the Fork Complex along with other fires previously in command by a Type 3 IC organization.

08/02/2015 0815: 23,400 acres, 0% contained. Fire is in Unified Command with CALFIRE. Multiple structures threatened. Complex consists of the large fires Deer, Barker, Rail and Castle 1 and numerous other smaller fires. Multiple structures continue to be threatened in the communities of Hayfork, Hyampom and Post Mountain area.

08/11/2015 0830: Evacuations, road and area closures:
 The Trinity County Sheriff’s Department mandatory evacuation are still in effect for Denny (including Quinby), Dailey, Hoboken and Bell Flats areas due to increased fire activity. A hard road closure is in effect on Denny Road at the junction of Forest Road 7N26 at Onion Saddle. Forest area, trail, and road closures are in effect on the Six Rivers and Shasta-Trinity National Forests. 08/11/2015 0930: 21,072 acres, 12% containment.
 Despite a weather disturbance producing strong winds from the south, operations were successful on the River Complex Fire yesterday. Crews held and strengthened firelines and scouted unstaffed portions of the fire, planning for future operations. As the fire burned actively through the night, crews patrolled fire lines and monitored burn activity on the perimeter.
 Most of the growth of the fire yesterday was on the southeast portion near Big Mountain. Fire progression is expected to continue in that area today. Firefighters will look for opportunities to build contingency lines in that region. Dozers have constructed several contingency lines between Trinity Village and the western flank of the fire.
 A Red Flag Warning continues for the fire area until 8 P.M. The impacts of the weather system are expected to continue throughout the day

08/08/2015 0830: 13,827 Acres 10% Evacuations remain in place for communities in the New River drainage north of Trinity Village. Heavy smoke conditions are contributing to poor air quality in the Willow Creek area. AREA CLOSURES: SHF: The Shasta Trinity Forest closure has been implemented to close the trails and roads within the River Complex fire area.

The Frog Fire was located by firefighters the afternoon of July 30, 2015 just southwest of Lava Campground on the Big Valley Ranger District. As of 8 a.m. July 31, it was estimated at 480 acres. Erratic fire behavior was observed yesterday with active spotting ahead of the fire front. 

FIRE IS BURNING IN PONDEROSA PINE WITH GRASS AND NEEDLE DRAPED MANZANITA UNDERSTORY, SIGNIFICANT LADDER FUELS ARE PRESENT.

HAZARDOUS TERRAIN WORKING AROUND LAVA FLOW TUBES. DIFFICULTY IN FINDING ADEQUATE VANTAGE POINTS TO ESTABLISH LOOKOUTS. COMMUNICATIONS ARE SPOTTY AND LIMITED IN THE FIRE AREA.

08/03/2015 LAVA CAMPGROUND AND HOWARD GULCH CAMPGROUND ARE CLOSED. LONG BELL FIRE STATION HAS BEEN EVACUATED.
